Ever since the warranty expired on the device we've had no problem putting "generic" toner inside. I have to say this might be the best bang for my buck I've come across. I love how the whole set comes at one essentially at the price of a single authentic cartridge. The cartridges themselves seem to be made from the frame of authentic HP toner. Having said that, the printer recognizes the toner as HP authentic, so you won't get any alerts nor would you be voiding the warranty on your device if its still active. The only downfall to that is it looks like a used toner cartridge. But I have no issues. Toner seems to be working great on the paper. The toner level indicator seems to be going down as normal.
