Standard staple are about 7/16" across the back and P3 staples are closer to 3/8". The leg length on standard staples varies from approximately 3/16" to about 1/2" while P3 staples are almost always about 3/16'. **Q: How wide are they ?** A: They are mape for the Bostitch P3 plier stapler. They are more narrow than a "standard" staple. Width is not very important since is made for a specific stapler. I would measure for you, but my staples are at work.
