I purchased this product because it has a USB-C port that allows me to use a USB-C to USB-C cable with my phone. I can also use a USB-A to USB-C cable with my phone but neither offers a charging advantage over the other, it simply gives me more flexibility in my cable loadout. Any port can deliver up to 2.4A (12W) up to a charger total of 7A (35W). The Amazon description lists a number of supported devices but this list is a little misleading since my phone (which is listed) charges, but does not charge rapidly. I subtracted 1 star because I think a USB-C port should charge at USB-C rates. 2.4A is good, but it isn't 3.0AOverall dimensions are 3-7/8" x 3-1/8" x 1-1/8" and it weighs 6.3 ounces. By comparison, my heaviest individual charger (a 3.0A USB-C unit) weighs 2.0 ounces. Although light for its size, it feels and appears well finished. The device itself is too large to plug into an AC outlet without interfering with another plug so the AC cord works better than a captive plug. It also allows the charger to be placed where it is convenient so you don't have 6 USB cables running to the wall socket.I travel quite a bit and this is the device I keep in my cable bag. There aren't too many places in my home where I MUST charge 6 devices at the same time but on the road it keeps things tidy and under control. I also keep a single device charger in my cable bag because the Alisten is not really convenient when all you want to do is charge a single device.To me, this charger solves a very specific problem. If you can live with the limitations it's a good piece of kit to have on-hand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Power Charge Your Devices Without the Need To Find a Bunch of Plugs *by E***M on October 25, 2015* My number one tech annoyance when I travel is the lack of plugs for charging. As luck would have it, I was provided this very compact Alisten PowerPort with 6 spaces for charging. This unit is slightly bigger than the palm of my hand, and packs nicely so I can take this with me wherever I need to work remotely. My daughter wants to take it to school because they have to rotate out who gets to charge their devices because the classroom doesn't have enough plugs but for a few people to plug in a device.Important to note: There are 6 ports - 5 USB-A 2.0 ports and 1 USB-C port. This is really important because USB-A is the standard USB plug most people think of when they think of USB. The USB-C is the newest power protocol that started rolling out just a few months ago (late 2015). It's supposed to be the holy grail of power supply.For now, most of my portable charging needs are USB-A (the typical USB plug) so having 5 ports is pretty awesome. I love that when I get my next new device, if it has the USB-C I will already have a portable charging station for it. And who doesn't want to be ready for the future!I like that it has smart identification built in so it automatically detects my device to maximize the charging speed. Also, it has a power light which helps me remember to grab my charging device before I leave the hotel room, the conference room, or wherever I'm at. That little blue light is a nice reminder. Also, it's not very intrusive and easily covered if you're bothered by it in a dark hotel room at night.I'm very pleased with my review unit and thing it's a fantastic value, especially with the new USB-C protocol. Pull one of these out at the airport, a conference, coffee shop, or classroom and you're sure to be everyone's new best friend! ### ⭐ Not a proper USB-C charger *by J***N on December 1, 2015* USB-C port charges at regular USB 2 charge levels - this is not a proper USB-C chargerUpdating the review, since seller is clearly showing in his response that this is not a proper USB-C charger.Per the USB specification v1.1 (page 23, table 2.1), the official USB-C charge levels are 900mA, 1.5A, and 3A. USB legacy charging, listed as USB BC 1.2, goes to 1.5A. There is a number of 'smart' chargers out there that go to 2.4A but these are not following the USB spec, but rather rely on vendor extensions.Seller's statement that this charger only charges at 2.4A strongly supports the theory that this charger is in fact on of the usual 2.4A vendor extension chargers that has been re-wired to a USB-C plug and runs legacy mode.The Nexus 5X does NOT do fast charging with this charger! This is despite what some of the reviews to this product incorrectly claims.
