Some thermostats won't go below 55 degrees, I would like a low of no more than 45 degrees** A: This thermostat will go as low as 41 degrees and the 'Vacation" setting on the thermostat is 50 degrees **Q: I have only two thick wires, white and red. Do you know which one s/b connected on where?** A: Two wires can be either 120-volt if one is a line or “hot”, and the other is a neutral. It can also be 240V-volt, it the two wires are both line or “hot”. You determine which ou have by measuring the voltage between the two wires with a multimeter. This unit is designed for 240-Volt or two hots. To wire it you connect the two hots to the inlet wires to the thermostat, and hook the two outlet wires to the wires running to a 240-volt heater. You can control a 240-volt heater with a single pole thermostat. However this is unsafe, as the heater will then constantly have 120-Volts potential to ground. Current code in most locations requires a two pole switch or thermostat to control 240-Volt heaters. If this is the least bit confusing hire an electrician to do the install. **Q: I have in wall forced air fan heaters (King-Pic-A-Watt). Will this stat work?** A: I really like the way these thermostats control the heat with my 220 volt baseboard heaters (I have these thermostats in my living room and three bedrooms). In looking at the Amazon.com website, it looks like most of the 'King Pic-A-Watt' heaters fall in the 208 to 240 volt range which is appropriate for this thermostat.
