This was not necessary, however, as the coals were sufficiently hot and burned for nearly two hours. Next time I'll only use one. The smoke smelled terrific while the food was cooking and imparted a unique smoky characteristic to the food. I will definitely be buying these on a regular basis.

I would put this charcoal up against any other brand out there- however, this is a very, very, small bag of charcoal. I use the Weber chimney starter and this bag filled it a little more than half way. $6 for a 2lb bag vs $9 for a 15lb bag of Kingsford- it's kind of a no brainier for most people.
