I'm 5'6" and normally very thin, but I'm currently 8 1/2 months pregnant (so I'm much bigger around the middle than I normally am) and I got both the XS and S, figuring is wear the Same now and the XS later. They both actually fit me now! The XS is perfect in the shoulders (I have linebacker shoulders and often find button down and other non-stretchy shirts are too constricting in the shoulder area and don't allow me to cross my arms), just long enough in the sleeves (I have long arms, though) and ankle length. The midsection is loose enough that it fits with a little bit of room to spare, so I imagine it'll be roomy once I'm no longer smuggling a pumpkin. The S is comfortably loose in the body (I feel like it's going to be quite baggy in the body, but very comfortable for lounging once baby is here), relaxed in the shoulders and a little longer than ankle length. The sleeves are perfect, bordering on hanging down into my hands. The material is very soft and warm but not super thick; it's a mid-weight flannel. I haven't washed mine yet, so I'm not sure how much these are going to shrink, but I anticipate some shrinkage even without machine drying due to the fabric content. I'm hoping the sleeves will still be long enough after washing on the XS. Overall, I love this gown. It looks just like the pictures (right down to the fit) and feels great.
