Played StarCraft 1 many years ago and loved that one. Also Blizzard just keeps putting out a better game each time around. Also its flawless in operation every time I play it. Being real time based, makes it outstanding. Take your eyes off the ball or miscalculate a move and you pretty much do yourself in. Plays much different than real time 1st person shooter games. You have to command groups and manufacture the correct proportions of raw materials to manufacture the armaments and upgrades you need for a particular situation. The Legacy of the Void pretty much forces me to learn the Protoss race and their abilities. I have been a fan of the Terrans and play them almost exclusively against the other two races and the Terrans themselves. Once I get through the mission I will spend most of my time playing against the AI (race of my choice) in different levels and the large selection of maps available, including new ones from players. Even with the missions to complete on this version I still enjoy playing AI mode. I am already trying out some of the new equipment/weapon systems being offered when in the AI mode. Protip: the difference between the two is a factor of 200 billion and any entity(s) capable of conquering, creating, or anything-ing the entire observable universe would be powerful enough to swat aside every lifeform in the Koprulu sector like a gnat off the bow of the Hyperion. Oh, and there's this whole Void thing which is kinda like WarHammer 40K's Immaterium, except it doesn't really do a lot to advance the plot aside from providing spackling for a thin story and allowing the reuse of existing units from other races as malevolent minions of a character who seems to be evil simply for the sake of being evil.. The whole things seems like a sophomore writing class exercise that got out of hand. That being said, a few of Fenix/Talandar's lines caused me to literally laugh out loud, and Alarax is a entertainingly sadistic. In terms of gameplay, it's mostly excellent. Some of the campaign-only units will have me longing for them in multiplayer (Centurions, Havocs, Annihilators) and most of the levels and objectives manage to stay interesting, despite some wild variations in difficulty, even on the same setting.
