The Genesis 20-Inch Box Fan is an energy efficient fan with innovative design. It has been constructed with a durable copper motor to last longer. This powerful floor fan is perfect for cooling a bedroom or an office. The 20" head gives you the option to place it on the floor, on a dresser, or on a table. The 3 fan speeds give the option of how cool you want the fan to blow. This fan has been ETL listed with UL approval and employs overload safety protection with a fuse in the plug.

The fan is made of high impact plastic that appears to be high quality from an injection mold or maybe even 3D printed. That's a plus in my experience to reduce possibility of rust, corrosion, and produces less noise from metal vibration. The appearance is very contemporary and aesthetically attractive, with thought behind the construction - there are two 'pockets' in the back to store a wound cord and the feet swivel into place to support the fan while standing. The power knob on the front makes it easy to adjust if using in a window (facing in, pulling in outside air) with the sash or blinds pulled down to the top of the fan. The blades are shaped differently from my other box fans (those are rather like flower petals), which resemble the propeller on a plane. It's quieter than I thought it would be from other review comments, and the air output and movement is very, very good. The grill on back and front looks like it will be easy to clean with a smaller bottle brush. I live in an area that gets triple digit heat in the spring and summer, so if this has a lifespan of 2-3yrs like my other box fans I'll be incredibly pleased for the price paid. Props to the manufacturer and seller!

If you're looking for a quiet fan, this isn't for you. It has a smooth sound, but it is loud- it drowns out any background sound like city traffic. It moves a ton of air on both 2 & 3, great for cooling down a room or sleeping in a wind tunnel ;)

**Q: How many cfm and what is db sound levels?  i won't buy any fan that does not list specifications for air flow and sound levels.**
A: The listing for the same product on the Home Depot website says this fan does 1800 CFM with 60 dBA

**Q: Could it be mounted to a wall?**
A: There is no hardware on this fan for wall mounting.

**Q: How do you get it open to clean, we unscrewed the screw but we still can’t open to clean.  I need specific directions or I am returning it!**
A: There is a single screw that I have found but I haven’t tried to actually open the unit. Depending on the amount of build up. I’d recommend using a long bristle broom. Mine works great and I haven’t had any problems and it’s not only quieter than most fans, it’s very powerful and moves a lot of air

**Q: I get really really hot at night, will this fan have a very strong breeze and make my entire room cold?**
A: It is just a fan. It does have a strong breeze on high, number 3, setting but it will not cool your room in the least.

Love this! 3 speed, 2 is more air than speed 3 on other box fans. Fully assembled. Lightweight. I've given this fan a 5 star rating on all categories even noise level because it's a fan.. DUH it isn't meant to be quiet, it's meant to work and move the air which it does superbly. Features I love, the power cord is in one corner and stows nicely, it has a simple handle built into the fan design rather than an ugly handle on the top like fans of old. The speed dial and levels are perfect and made well. This fan really works well. Yeah it's noisy like ALL box window fans, it's stupid to expect a fan like this of reasonable cost to not have a level of noise. You get used to it super fast and it's more like white noise and it is no louder than my previous box fan. This one is made WAY better than any box fan I have ever owned. It's sturdy and I love the feet on the bottom. I can easily flip this fan around right in the window to either bring in fresh cool air in the morning or help push out hot air in the afternoon and pull the cooler air into the room from the coolers in the bigger rooms in the house. It's perfect.
