Neodymium magnets are extremely versatile because of their strength and can be used in a wide variety of applications ranging from holding things onto your fridge to the most demanding industrial applications. This magnet can hold up to 33 lbs under ideal conditions, and is a grade N45 neodymium magnet which due to its large size is extremely strong. They are magnetized through the 1/4" thickness so the north and south poles are on the flat surfaces, and the red line on one side of the magnet denotes which side the north pole is on. Neodymium magnets are unique because of their extreme resistance to demagnetization and will only lose their magnetism if they're heated above 176 degrees fahrenheit. Additional Information Magnet grades are used to identify how strong a magnet is, and magnet grades range from N35, the weakest and cheapest, to N52, the ultimate in performance and holding power. When you buy an N52 magnet, you are buying the strongest magnet in that size that is commercially available. Neodymium magnets that are grade N52 are 35% stronger than commonly found N35 magnets. Even though lower grade magnets, such as grade N35, are weaker than higher grade magnets they still offer plenty of strength to handle most tasks that involve magnets while also coming in at a lower cost. All of our Neodymium magnets come with premium coatings applied onto them that increases the durability and longevity of our magnets while also giving them an attractive look. Our magnets come in a strong and shiny triple layer bonded coating that consists of a base layer of nickel, a middle layer of copper, and an exterior layer of nickel. Nickel is used because of its excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance and copper is used because it increases the magnet’s impact resistance. Magnets are shipped with plastic spacers in between them in order to make them easier to handle. If a magnet attaches to another magnet they can be very difficult to separate. Magnets need to be handled with care beause even though they look like they’re very strong, all neodymium magnets are actually very brittle and can break if they’re mishandled. If a magnet is allowed to slip out of your hand and snap into a surface or onto another magnet it can break very easily. In order to remove a magnet from a stack of magnets, firmly grip the magnets, and then slide the top magnet off of the stack. Do not stop moving the magnet away from the stack until you can no longer feel the magnets pulling on each other.

Review: Strength to size ratio - I'm a wet shaver and I often have 1/2 of a double edged razor blade sitting around. I might buy a few more of these and put them a few inches apart to keep the bolt from ever escaping the death grip of magnetism!

I'm a wet shaver and I often have 1/2 of a double edged razor blade sitting around. I bought this so I wouldn't set a razor blade where it will get lost and/or eventually found by accident along with cutting a finger. When I break a blade I store the unused half in its wrapper and attach it to the magnet. This magnet is perfect. The blades won't move. I have to slide them off. It doesn't work to pull them directly or it will bend the blade. It's very small so it fits on my shaving shelf and very strong so it holds the blade until I'm ready to slide it off and use it. The magnet big enough it won't easily get lost. One word of warning. I had one of these magnets and I let it get too close to another magnet. They slammed together and broke. Just be aware of how hard this will slam into something magnetic or worse yet, another magnet. I actually think you could get a nasty pinch.

Very powerful, I mean once you get it attached to something, it will be VERY HARD to get it off. I had to use a hammer to get it off! This is one strong magnet. I use it for a weird purpose: as part of trying to install a running board on my SUV, I dropped one of the holding bolts into a part of undercarriage that is SEALED - so there is no way to retrieve that bolt! After suffering weeks of rattling bolt every time I accelerate and decelerate, I went NUTS. I had to do something about it, it was driving me crazy. Tried a bunch of different things to retrieve the bolt, but without cutting thru metal on my expensive SUV, there seemed no way. Then finally it hit me! I could buy a strong magnet and fish out the bolt closer to the tiny entrance [thru which it fell in the first place]. But that proved very hard too (because the undercarriage is also made of magnetic material - aka iron :). So I decided to leave the magnet in hopes that that would hold the bolt in place. That finally helped - once the bolt rolled itself into position (that took a week of rough driving, lol), the magnet did its job and held the bolt in place - the rattle is finally gone! I might buy a few more of these and put them a few inches apart to keep the bolt from ever escaping the death grip of magnetism!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great for boat trailer surge brakes (Pin)

I bought this to prevent my boat trailer surge brake pin from falling out when launching my boat from a ramp. It works perfectly for that application. Prior to getting this the pin would fall out and I would have to keep the trailer electrical connection plugged into the tow vehicle in order to back the trailer into the water- not ideal. Simple solution to that problem. Very strong magnet.
