Review: Five Stars - The perfect busbar cover for one of the very highest quality busbars of its kind. Well-made, with a good, solid snap-on fit that effectively shields the terminations on the busbar from any possibility of accidental externally-induced short-circuiting, debris build-up and mechanical interference. When used in conjunction with proper dielectric grease or other protective shielding / applications on the busbar terminals, one cannot ask for better protection outside of hermetic sealing even in the demanding marine environment. One note to all : I have noticed that, outside of the commercial shipping industry, there is a regrettable general tendency towards treating marine electrical rigging almost as an afterthought, right down to the sort of corner-cutting that beggars description by its very nature. One sees this sort of so-called "workmanship" in a wide variety of scenarios ---- ranging from high-end luxury yachts to the smallest, most basic watercraft. This is a false economy that will result in nothing but long-term problems for the end user, ranging from mere annoyances such as importunate and embarrassing breakdowns at the most awkward of times ( that could still cost the end-user hugely ) to the catastrophic ( as in a major electrical fire ). Understand that the marine environment is an unforgiving, corrosive and intrusive one, then take it from there. Make sure that all lines, connections and terminations are properly crimped, insulated, sealed and / or greased, and are of the appropriate gauge for the anticipated electrical load. One classic example that repeats itself over and over again is the boat owner who will unhesitatingly spend large amounts of money on extraneous comforts and features such as luxurious boat furniture, galley cooktops and utensils, extra-fancy but unnecessary electronic navaids, surface drives that seem great on paper but which may actually prove detrimental in the long run to overall mechanical reliability, and sophisticated but questionable fishing accessories, live wells, etc. while skimping on the most basic of essentials --- sound hull structure, reliable powerplant, reliable basic running gear, and reliable power infrastructure, i.e., electrical systems, and quality navigation lighting, among others. If one remembers nothing else, understand and remember what takes a higher priority and what will be "nice-to-have" but takes a distinct second place or lower. The sea is an unforgiving place, even for the casual boat owner, let alone a maritime professional.
Review: Very High Quality Bus Bar. - This is really a very good product and it is very well made. As are most of Blue Sea's products. I bought three of these to use on 2 battery banks I have in my stand alone solar powered system. I work as an installer so I use a lot of different products and I generally research every product I buy before purchasing it. This was by far the best available Busbar at this price point. I highly recommend using this busbar along with the protective casing that they sell for it. The busbar seats into the bottom half of the casing perfectly and easily, just by adding some pressure by hand. it has a snap in feature with an incredibly strong hold once inserted. The heavy duty plastic casing then fits over the bottom half and is attached with 4 very well built and very strong clasps. It takes a few seconds to simply unclasp the top housing, change or add your terminal rings and then reattach the clasps. Everything fits to exact tolerance. The bus bar itself is very hefty. It is rated upto 250 Amps of power. The terminal studs are excellent quality made. I use four of the studs to connect each of my four 105 AH batteries wires individually to this busbar, one busbar for Positive and another of the same bus bar for negative. I have attached my solar controller, a Samlex charger, and a Samlex true sine Inverter to the busbar as well. Using kill switches I now control the power flows precisely, and by wiring the batteries to these busbars instead of to each other in parallel, I now have a guaranteed current flow going through each battery evenly.. As the old way of wiring battery to battery to battery, connecting positive to positive, etc and the same with Negative, created an alternate "Pathway" for some of the power to bypass the batteries by flowing directly through the wires!! Wiring to two of these busbars eliminates the capacity losses I was getting. And yes, I wired in parallel and connected to top battery positive terminal and bottom battery negative terminal. This bus bar has a lot of room between the screw studs and this makes it much easier to make your connections.. The busbar comes with lock down rings and a very sturdy screw stud and nut. The plastic housing ( sold separately ) has easy to knock out access points for each terminal.. So, I really recommend this Busbar very highly. It is very well made, very roomy to work with, and extremely well built. It handles the power I work with easily.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the amp rating per screw?**
A: About 15amp but should handle up to 25amp could be more depending on your wires awg

**Q: 100a or 150a for a boat?**
A: All depends on what your hooking up. Normally 100 Amp is plenty. And this is a grounding strip. If you have a large load -Spot Lights, Down riggers, bilge pumps, Stereo, 2-way radio etc, etc you'll have to do the math. But since your buying a grounding lug this should have already been done on your fused feeders.

**Q: What size ring terminals would I need to get for the screw and stud connections.**
A: I measured the post and screw. The main posts on either end are for 1/4" ring terminals and the screws are for #8 ring terminals.

**Q: Where can I buy a cover for this bus bar?**
A: Try going direct to the manufacture. Amazon has the item listed with & without the cover, but they do not list the over as a separate order-able item.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ blue sea bus bar.
*by T***R on May 2, 2011*

this sucker cost a bit of money, however, worth every penny i paid. i am building a high end car and am tired of paying good money for cheap chinese crap being passed off as quality parts and sellers charging for a quality part, that turns out to be junk that i end up tossing in the trash. i have to tell you, this bus bar is HIGH quality. if you are looking for a bus bar and want something that is going to last and compliment all the hard work you have put in on your project, this is the one for you. spend the extra 10 bucks, you will not be sorry. i am considering buying another for a car i finished 5 years ago and replacing the bus bar i have in it. BLUE SEA 2105 MAXIBUS 250 AMP COMMON BUSBAR TWELVE # 10 TERMINAL SCREW LUGS. i have purchased 3 other BLUE SEA products. All four BLUE SEA products are of the highest quality and do what they are intended to do. no having to redesign the wheel to make em work. nothing strips or falls off. they mount as they should. designs are clean. they add to the high quality of any project. i am in no way related to, nor do i sell BLUE SEA products. i am, however, a very happy BLUE SEA customer. if you are tired of wasting money on crap, drop the few extra bucks on these products. in the long run, you will save lots of time and money on the front end as well as on the back end.
