Works Great! Highly recommend! - Our local Hardware store in teeny town couldn't get this item for us. Lowe's gave us the wrong item. Finally, came here and found the exact item I needed. Price is fair and installation, a bit nerve wracking because of the electricity involved, but shut everything down. Was fairly easy to install and operate for a layman. Replaced both our upper and lower thermostats with this and no need to replace the entire water heater. Took me about an hour from very beginning to end to install this safely. Highly recommend. The parts were properly packaged and arrived in pristine condition with installation directions and very clear pictures to show what was needed. Within 20 minutes water was beginning to warm up, a good sign the new parts were working a half hour later I took a much needed shower. It is a direct replacement for the old part number 265-40287-00 / 265-40288-00 (the upper & lower thermostats used to come separate, now they are only available in kit form since Bradford recommends replacing both the upper &lower at the same time). The manual for the old M-1-50S6DS heaters are no longer available, and now you can only get the replacement info for M-2-50S6DS heaters, however the only difference between those 2 heaters is that the M-1 has 1" of insulation and the M-2 has 2" of insulation. **Q: Will this work with model # mi30r6ds13** A: This is a pretty standard thermostat. If it fits both physically and electrically it should work just fine. **Q: Does this fit the m280r6ds-1ncww?** A: I know it fits model number re340t6 -1n cww. I would recommend not removing old thermostat retainers beforehand since this pack only comes with 1 retainer. The new thermostats fit just fine under the old retainers on my water heater.
