Box contains camera with 140 degrees of viewing with 1080p quality video has microphone and speaker. Battery is used for ignition shut down the unit is not designed to be used off of the battery as a stand alone camera. It must be hooked directly to an accessory port to be used. Setup instructions: Read manual to get to menu setup. Set motion detection to off while driving. Set loop time to three minutes. Use a new SD Card as it loops and overwrites files. If you have a card with files already on it you will have them overwritten. If camera seems like it is turning itself on and off it is because the motion detection is not turned off while driving. It is storing short loop videos which can be caused by bumps in the road. If you are looking for an affordable high quality dash camera then this is the one you want. There are many versions of this camera which use lower quality chipsets. Pay attention when ordering and make sure your are getting a genuine Novatek with HDMI output and 1080 resolution. The regular instruction sheet tells you how to get around in the menu, but not what anything does. The picture quality is good. Unfortunately there is a limit as to what size of memory card this will handle. The suction doesn't like to hold in a warm car. I'm trying to figure out what to do about that, because when summer comes along its a lost cause. This has to have power to work, a suggestion here. Have a power supply, like you'd use to recharge your phone, along in your car... with an appropriate usb cable. That way, if you're involved or a witness to an accident, you can pull the camera out of the car, attach it to the portable power supply and take pictures. On that note, travel with 2 memory cards.
