We had mold all around the bathroom where the wall meets the ceiling. It's the bathroom everyone showers in. I bought this dehumidifier because it can drain directly into the sink. The problem has now been solved over 1 year running. I position the unti at the back corner of the sink, and turn it around backwards so the drain faces the sink, and open the little plug, it drips all day long right into the sink. I use a bottle cap to prop up the front just a bit for better dripping into the sink, but that's not required to make it work. I don't even need the enclosed hose for draining-- but you could if you wanted to place it further away from the sink on a larger countertop. I haven't had to clean the bucket a single time, because the water never builds up inside. We run it all day, and shut it off at night due to how close the bathroom is to our bedroom, so we don't hear it. But also the lower power nighttime mode is so quiet we wouldn't hear it at night anyway-- but we decided to let the motor rest at night as it's already a low humid environment in the bathroom/bedroom area thanks to running it all day. I am looking to buy another to place at the back corner of the kitchen sink...
