I am measuring the placement of text blocks on a printed page, and the 10ths and 100the marks are clear and easily readable. If you are a machinist, you'll probably want to invest in a good micrometer or caliper (guess-o-meter), but if your accuracy needs don't rise to that level, these rulers are very nice.
