It is a pretty sturdy paddle--I think it would make a nice back up for serious users depending on length needed. It is very light weight and can be used as row boat paddles or a kayak paddle. ### ⭐ Blades assembled backwards, wrong color, no drip rings *by C***3 on August 12, 2014* The shafts were riveted to the blades opposite of each other. This means that the blades point opposite directions. I had to drill a hole to allow the two halves to be attached so that the blades pointed in the same direction.The description says ORANGE, which is my son's favorite color. The paddle I received is fire engine red.The description says that it comes with DRIP RINGS. Mine didn't have any, so I had to make some out of rubber I had lying around.This would have been returned, but I didn't have time before our river trip.
