Review: It just works. Get this to keep your Hybrid 12V maintained when not driving. - It just works. I have a newer Hybrid vehicle. Generally we won't drive it much in the winter, and lo behold the 12V battery was at ~3V or so after about 10 days outside in the cold. So we battery pack boosted it and drove around. Got it back up to charge. Purchased a Noco5 and it was worthless. Just read it was at 25% no matter what mode it was in. Checked voltage at 12.1V and it still read 25%. Sure enough after a week or so the battery was running to about 6V and I sent the Noco5 back. Enter this little gem. Keeps the 12V maintained, granted it's only been a couple of days now, but put it on at 11.4V and read it again after taking it off today at 12.2V. I will update after winter to see how this holds up but at the moment very pleased that it's as simple as plugging it in.

**Q: How does Axtra 3.6-amp battery charger compare to Battery Tender 3-amp battery charger?**
A: The Axtra acts as both a 6-volt and a 12-volt charger. However, it can also provide a constant 3-amp battery tender witch, when set, will provide a continuous charge over a long period of time. The 3-amp battery tender only provides a continuous charge but cannot provide a 6 or 12-volt charge. If you do not have a charger, I would recommend the Axtra as is it can provide both aspects.

**Q: I'm using Axtra battery charger to maintain 2 batteries over the winter. Is this Battery Tender reliable as Axtra battery maintainer?**
A: My experience with using the battery tender is nothing but good. Pretty much set it and forget it. No problems what so ever. Very easy to use, very well made, very reliable. I would for sure buy another one.

**Q: Is this over rated for motorcycles**
A: If the battery is rated less than 30 amp hrs, I would say yes. The rule of thumb is the maximum charge rate should not excede 1/10 of the battery's Amp hr rating. E.g. 20 amp hr battery should not be charged at over 2 amps

**Q: Planning to connect black to black and red to red pigtail for car battery still inside car. Confused since not sure if that’s grounded. Pls confirm?**
A: Yes, Red to Red (positive) and Black to Black (negative) is the correct connection.  Why are you worried about ground on a 12 volt car battery?

I gave it 5 stars because it worked perfectly, and exactly as advertised. The only issue I had was with the instructions, not the product. Once I figured out how to use the product, it was very easy. The instructions are unnecissarily confusing.. I would recommend using your head more than the instructions when using it, and only refer to the instructions when interpreting what the various light combinations are telling you. Bottom line: It works.
