I use them with my slippers in the morning without any cushioning insole and that helps the pain all day long. When I use them with my shoes during the day, I add the cushioned insoles. Again I use the insoles with my slippers at night and it depends on how much the toe hurts whether or not I use the cushioning insoles. I had a problem getting these ordered as they are sized and the Amazon interface does NOT require you to specify a size. The first pair I received was huge. I returned them and ordered another pair when I realized that the interface didn't ask me to specify a size, so I cancelled that order immediately, went back and reordered these insoles FOR THE THIRD TIME. PLEASE, PLEASE AMAZON, fix your interface. ### ⭐⭐ ???Just not what I expected!! *by D***D on Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2014* I thought the big toe extension from the top down to the midsection only under the big toe would be "rigid", preventing my big toe ONLY from bending through each step. The entire piece is rigid with no cushion on the top. I will send back or take it to our shoe smith and see if he can use them to make what I described above.
