Daiwa Presso UL Spinning Rod

The quality for a multi piece rod is great. The action is fast, and it is easy to feel a bite. It casts well, and it is perfect for stream fishing.

Probably a 4.5 star for me, really, because there are some improbable aspects (more so having to do with the case as opposed to the rod). I'm a backpacker, but I don't want a telescoping POS, so this fits the bill well for me. Compact enough to fit completely down inside my pack and very light (downside is the case is probably heavier than the actual rod and could be more compact - there is a lot of dead space inside the case when it's all packed up). Fits together and comes apart easily. The cork is nice since I fish with a lot of oily bait (salmon eggs). Stiff enough to cast very well, but sensitive and flimsy enough the feel the slightest nibble and make it a blast to catch trout. Best four piece pile of this size, weight and compactability that I've found at this price point since the old backpacking eagle claw poles.

I bought two ultralight Daiwa pack rods to replace two Sage pack Rods - each of which failed in year 1 while pulling small fish out of the water (and which Sage made no effort to replace or repair or acknowledge)... sorry - I hate Sage. So the much cheaper Daiwa is on year 3. Some little cosmetic issues and I am not a fan of the handle design - I prefer the old fashioned cork-all-the-way design. However, the rod does the job (without snapping while landing a 6 ounce sunny). I have landed a number of 2-3lb smallmouth and trout on these rods and trust I will do the same this season.

I've Had Both Models, 2pc. And 4pc. Both Models Are Very Light, With Nice Build Quality. The 2pc Version Was A Little Too Whippy For Me. The 4pc Is A Little More Stiffer. Would Recommend Either Version, Depending On Your Likings. May Purchase Another 4pc! Very Nice Rods!

Caught a good sized channel cat on my first cast and had no issues pulling it from weeds and structure. You can easily feel anything that touches your lure, from bumping rocks and weeds, to the lightest of bites.

At fist I'm hesitant to buy this because of the photo that is a 2pcs rod. Thankfully it is a 4pcs rod. Love this UL rod pso604ulfs. Very sensitive, light and durable. Im casting a .5g softbait, 2.5g ned rig, 3g jigs 2-5g spoons and even 8g minnow with this rod and it can handle it. Partnered it witha stradic fm 1000hg. Im just waiting for the price to come down and I'll buy another one as a backup. Great case also it can hold two 4pcs rods with out reel. Pso604ulfs and a iprimi 60XUL-4 in one case.

Very nice quality rod that packs up nice and small. Great cork grips and quality components. The action is fast and there's plenty of backbone. More of a light power than ultralight. The case is tough and seems to protect the rod well.
