Altra is the only brand of athletic shoe that does not hurt me. It's not only that the shoes are shaped like my feet but also that they do not raise my heel up higher than the front of my foot. For some reason when I wear shoes that raise my heel, even slightly, they cause pain in the front of my foot. So I own a few pairs of Altras and was wondering if they made a slip-on style and found these. They look good in the photos but I wasn't sure they weren't going to be so modern they were weird. But they aren't weird at all. They are so good looking! And they fit exactly the same as my lace-up Altras. I do see what people mean about the elastic being tight. To me it isn't that it's tight, it's more of a feeling on my skin, you know there's a wide elastic band there. I have some socks made by Champion called Women's 3 Pack High Performance Low Cut Heel Shield Socks. They are the perfect height to put a layer of fabric between the elastic and my skin.
