The DonJoy Deluxe Hinged knee brace is designed for moderate stability and support for knee ligament meniscus injuries, sprains and osteoarthritis. The bilateral hinges to help provide additional knee support. The Drytex material is an alternative to neoprene and constructed of a unique nylon core and polyester lycra fabric that allows for improved airflow. This fabric provides compression and support, yet allows for breathability. The popliteal is located behind the knee. Individuals that do a lot of bending can experience friction burn from the material rubbing, so choosing an open back or open popliteal prevents that discomfort. The DonJoy Deluxe Hinged knee brace is ideal for those who have allergies or irritations to neoprene or live in warm weather climates.

**Q: Is this Brace adjustable?**
A: Yes, but only within limits.  The neoprene sleeve must be roughly the correct size, which you can customize (within limited parameters) with the Velcro closure to get a snug fit.  The Velcro strips at the top and bottom then further "snug" the fit and support the entire brace.

I really liked the brace when I was having knee problems (resolved now), but it only works well if you have the size roughly correct.

FWIW - I actually liked the Shock Doctor a bit better, but it was even more finicky about the correct size as it doesn't have the Velcro adjustment on the sleeve (only Velcro straps).  It is also annoyingly difficult to get off when it gets damp with sweat, whereas the DonJoy Velcro can simply be undone to get it off.

If you are bowlegged, you might like this brace. Please notice the metal hinges on either side of the knee. They eachstick out about an inch. They are not covered. I honestly hate this brace because of this reason. I had to change my gait slightly to accommodate these ridiculous hinges. So uncomfortable. I’ve owned many Donjoy braces and the prior models had a brace that was maybe a quarter of an inch or half an inch and it was padded and not annoying at all. I had to resurrect my old braces, get them fixed at the shoe repair and those are what I am now using. Wish I knew how to give this brace away.
