Old.. Burnt chlorine like taste, with too much water waste. *by J***Y on January 6, 2017* Update...It took awhile, at least 7 gallons or more, but the burnt taste went away. This is a good machine, and the water tastes fantastic. I'd give 5 stars, but I don't like the frequency of the wash cycle. 1/2 gallon, plus about 10 minutes each time each time.Original...I would not recommend this unit, if you like the taste of water. Unless you run acidic water, !everytime! before the alkaline setting, the alkaline water has a chlorine burnt type taste. I prefilter and run an RO prior to feeding into the unit. Doesn't matter. Quite disappointing. Plus the constant water waste from the "cleaning" process, doesn't even go out the waste line. Damn, enkion, I don't piss out my mouth, why would you have a waste and cleaning process that does essentially the same.
