I bought it primarily for my 2015 Duramax to help get the filter off after I had to drive a screw driver through it and slowly turn it of (Thanks Chevy dealer). But the other day I needed to change the oil in the Wife's Traverse and they put the filter in the worst spot. I was having trouble getting the filter off so I figure I would try this wrench. I needed to squeeze it into a grill hole. use two 3/8" extensions and even then I was not able to quite grab the filter. I took a few photos but it barely grabbed and yet it dug right into the filter and without any effort turned it right off! It was then used on the duramax and worked without any issues. This thing is a must even if there is a chance at a stuck filter at some point. Might never need it but at least its in the toolbox! Why wasn't it just automatically noted on the packaging??? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job. *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2019* I was skeptical at first to try this design of an oil filter wrench tool but honestly it's my go to now when I can't easily access an oil filter or have trouble removing one. It has yet to fail me in removing an oil filter as I use it daily in an auto repair shop. It should only be used if you are changing out your oil filter as it can damage the external housing of the oil filter you are removing.My only issue is that it can be a bit tricky to position the tool onto the filter and to keep it in positon all while getting your attached wrench/ratchet in position to turn counter clockwise. It takes a few tries in areas where you don't have a lot of space to work with because the tool twists the wrong way and can open up (let go of the filter). You can twist it into positon to sit/grip the oil filter tightly but if you make a sudden movement in the wrong direction with your wrench/ratchet it will loosen up you have to start over again. Can be frustrating for some or a non issue for others.Overall, great tool that replaces having multipe oil filter tools.
