In fact, every surface on this entire fan is plastic, except the wire cage around the fan blades. Nothing to attach to for jerry-rigging. It's adequate for what it is designed for, and that's for sitting on a horizontal surface. You'd need a shelf to support this fan off of a wall. **Q: Does this recline both forward and from side to side if needed?** A: The fan can be pointed upward or downward within some reasonable range.
