Is this safe to use with the brown? Will it fade the color quicker?** A: All it does is makes blonde a cooler tone. So any red, orange, or yellows will go away. It doesn't do anything for brown really, I just think it will take care of the warm tones. It won't fade color, just removes the warm. Even if you don't like the effect, a couple of washes and it will turn back. **Q: whats toning and what exactly does it do for hair?** A: I am not a hair stylist but, a toner is different than a toning shampoo. I toner is a straight chemical and a toning shampoo takes out that yellowish color banana peel color and makes it more of a vibrant banana fruit blonde. A toner will take out the didn't leave in long enough brassy orange/yellow, where the shampoo takes out the yellow brass.
