An update to one of our most popular Active Jacs, the J130, this men′s jacket was designed using feedback from our Carhartt Crew. Every detail, from the hood draw cords, with cord locks to the updated zipper design for smoother use and added durability, was feedback from hardworking people who wear our gear day-in and day-out. This jacket is made with our heavyweight cotton duck and lined with lightweight 3M Thinsulate-insulation for exceptional warmth.Roomy for a comfortable fit, allows for maximum range of movement.

Review: Great autumn/winter jacket - For over 20 years, I've been buying Carhartt WIP coats (WIP, or 'Work in Progress' is the European street wear company that has licensed the 'Carhartt' brand from the US workwear company since the mid 1990s), but the prices in the UK have increased so much recently (more so than in continental Europe e.g a £200 item costs only €199 (~£165)), and the designs are getting weirder and further from the workwear roots of the original brand. I used to like everything in their range and it all fitted well, but recently it's been quite hit or miss. So I thought I'd check out some US Carhartt, I got a sweatshirt that is great, but I've also had to return a t-shirt and a different jacket before because the sizing was huge. Therefore, I thought trying a different US Carhartt jacket would be a gamble based on my past experience and other reviews saying to size down. I'm only 5' 8" and 140 pounds, so sizing down is not an option. The small is definitely a loose fit as the label says, but that's not an issue for a winter jacket where you want to layer with a jumper or hoodie and maybe a scarf. The sleeves, whilst generous, are not too long (although I wouldn't want them longer) and will keep the cold out. The quality of the jacket is great and I like the classic, but updated style. I can definitely feel that this serious workwear that could be worn by a contractor in Michigan (it even has a special front pocket compartment for your carpenters pencil!), but the jacket also looks smart, so perfect for wearing on my commute or going out. The warmth level feels about right for the autumn and winter in the UK (a 3 out of 4 on Carhartt's warmth scale - bearing in mind we don't get -20℃ plus winters like the brand's main customers face!). The weight feels substantial, but not heavy or cumbersome. This jacket will replace my old Superdry jacket which was very comfortable, but was plagued by quality issues (stitching falling apart and a zip breaking). Given that this jacket is much better value than Carhartt WIP and way better quality than similarly priced Superdry (which has started a Carhartt-style 'surplus' range), I'll definitely be looking at more original Carhartt items for my wardrobe. Thanks to desertcart for making this excellent American brand more available in the Europe. As others have said, if you've been on the fence about getting a jacket from this brand, go for it, I highly recommend it - I'm so pleased with this jacket! I also hope the sizing info is useful for anyone similarly sized.

**Q: how many pockets does it have outside and inside?**
A: This has two lined front pockets (one of them has a pen stall).  It also has 2 inner pockets.

**Q: Are these big and tall sizes as the title says? IF I order medium, am getting a medium tall?**
A: Not true, if you order “M” that’s a NORMAL MEDIUM, if you order “MT” that’s a tall medium, they have several normal sizes and big and tall, just read

**Q: I’m 6.2 height and 185 weight ; what size do you recommend for me?**
A: My son iso. Us 6’2.  165lbs though.  He got a large but swapped it for a medium.  I’m guessing a large would do you.

Brilliant jacket, I’ve been wearing it almost daily for work and out and about for about 3 months now. I did see some reviews from people saying theirs was covered in hair? Mine was fine. Also saw one that said theirs arrived in a bin bag, mine came in plastic Carhartt packaging. The coat is very warm, it’s a great fit on me (I’m 6’1”, about 170lbs and I ordered a large). The fabric is extremely durable, I’ve caught it on fencing/metal at work and it hasn’t even scratched. Some people might not like it because it’s kinda stiff, but it’s durable enough to last a lifetime. I saw some people saying that the inside pockets came away from the lining quite quickly, mine are fine but I can’t really comment because I don’t use these pockets at all.
