Product Description Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Box Contains Cartridge

Review: Amazing! - Now I'm going to preface this by starting with the fact this game likely is likely an alternate timeline or not canon despite how it was advertised, as it has events that would clash with canon. But aside from that, this is an amazing game with a few quibbles. If you have played Breath of the Wild, quite a few of the game mechanics from it are here including different weapon types for Link, Remote Bombs, Magnesis, Stasis, Cryokinesis, Perfect Dodge, Flurry Rush, Perfect Guard, Paragliders in the air, Shield Surfing as one of Link's attacks. But this is not the same genre as BOTW - this gameplay wise is more a Warriors style of game with BOTW mechanics added. I've been enjoying the story a lot, the fighting, the collecting items to boost characters or get bonuses. If you aren't into repetitive gameplay, this might wear on you though. I enjoy this for a few hours at a time, and find it really fun. Now my quibbles are mostly with things this game itself introduces as issues from clashing with BOTW features that worked perfectly fine in BOTW. My number one issue being that that there are weak point gauges for powerful enemies that if you wear down, let you do powerful attacks. These are better suited for one on one combat. But then fairly often you might have two or three such enemies you have to fight at once due to the Warriors framework. This isn't suited for that despite how often this occurs, it is suited for one on one combat. Hinox and Lynel and so forth were solitary in BOTW which would make it a better concept if they didn't keep throwing in Moblins and Wizzrobes next to them in a lot of levels. My second quibble is that in BOTW you get bows you can aim. And several of the enemy types in BOTW are clearly suited for aimed arrow shots. This isn't implemented well in this game because only Link has a bow you can aim, aiming it is finicky and does not slow down time to make it easier, and the spots you have to aim at are either fairly small or can go outside aiming range in the case of Hinox, which are so tall the game may not let you aim at their eye if you are too close. I've also had this issue with Divine Beasts where camera limitations mean you can't hit some enemies if you are too close. The weak point of Stone Talus is also extremely difficult to hit with most characters accurately. My third quibble is with Divine Beast content. The enemies are really really small in this, making them very hard to actually hit accurately. And Daruk's for some reason is the only one that doesn't get a shield bizarrely enough, and gets a Counter which is honestly not as useful as having an actual shield. The camera restrictions for limiting where you can aim and hit feel unnecessary as well, especially when an enemy I need to hit is also right there. It isn't terrible, but these aren't my favourite sections. These aren't major issues, but these are aspects that could have been done better. Over all, it is fun though, it is mostly just running around slaughtering as many monsters as dare stand in your way, and for me, that's a great time! So if you like Warriors style games it is worth a try!
Review: Excellent Game Highly Recommended - Excellent game with excellent story and graphics. If you like Dynasty Warriors you will like this too, the game play is fun, if you are a Zelda fan this is a must have and you should add it to your nintendo switch/Zelda collection.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Epic Game
*by B***6 on 29 November 2020*

Now I wasn't sure if I would like this game, thinking it was just going to be a hack and slash, kill all enemies in sight kind of deal...but I have never been more wrong!!! This game follows the time before Breath Of the Wild when the Calamity was on the brink of starting, where Zelda and Link have to recruit the Four Champions to pilot their respective Divine Beasts. It has so much story to it, it's unreal. I love absolutely everything about it, from the map screen that lets you see all the side quests (and I'm not that far in and there is already LOADS of these) that is Breath of The Wild's map, to the playable characters and the lovely cutscenes you get which tell you more about the relationships between characters that you only got a hint of in the memories in Breath of the Wild. Now I actually haven't completed Breath of the Wild yet, because I wanted to play this one first, but I think you can do it either way. The gameplay is fast, frenetic and totally addictive, the characters are all worth playing as (Impa is a ninja both literally and in her gameplay style, she basically decimates all in her path; as does Revali, and Link and....ok yeah, all the characters I've played as decimate the field...bar Daruk, because he's a bit slow....sorry Daruk fans!!) and it's a truly magnificent thing to be able to see Hyrule as it was before the Calamity struck. An absolute must for Zelda fans. Would give it more than five stars if I could! :D
