Can’t get the old man to drink enough water (he’s 72...not likely to change his mind on the subject) but he will drink store brand sugar free orange drink mixed with a little Tang. He won’t/can’t pour himself a glass so, I started off refilling plastic water bottles, which I abhor and can’t clean properly anyway, so I bought these after much debate/trial and error (the canning jar was too big and hard for him to manage with his tremors). These work out beautifully, they’re a good size, glass gets nice and cold, they’re easy to clean (I bought a baby bottle brush for the purpose). The batch makes six bottles worth, which store handily on the door of the fridge, easy access for him and by golly it worked! It’s not straight water, but it’s wet and he’ll drink it. Once I convinced his housekeeper to quit throwing the bottles out, we’ve got a good system worked out and we have a way of monitoring his fluid intake.
