These are so much better than the little inflatable donuts. I have found that it's firm but not uncomfortably so-- gives enough cushion but also provides support (my husband thought it was firmer than he though it should be, so each to their own). This has helped with aiding in some hemorrhoid relief. I use it in chairs at my home, and have also used it to sit on our hardwood floors at our house as well.
