It has a front flap pocket, a front zip pocket that has pen and card holders, a back slot pocket, and inside the main zip compartment there is an inside zip pocket....Plenty of room to carry essentials! I like the plastic-like coating on the material that makes it moisture-resistant. But, there is one *major* drawback: the strap is so rough that it completely ruined one shirt and nearly ruined another. I have been looking everywhere for a replacement for my old one, including here on Amazon. Mystified as to why it was so hard... but, lucky you if you find it too. It's a tad smaller than the standard "medium" canvas crossbody, perfect if you need to carry just the basics: wallet, phone, e-reader, makeup, hairbrush. I use the back pocket for a newspaper or small umbrella.
