The side Velcro is overkill. There's enough there to stop a freight train! Since the coat doesn't have the strain of a leash, it doesn't have to be that strong. That much Velcro is tough to peel apart, it actually hurts my hands. So I just never take them off! 😉I get compliments from everyone first seeing the coats. The dogs really love them. Please be sure to measure your pup and use the sizing chart. My Westie usually takes a medium but this sizing chart said she should take a large. So I purchased the large. It fits her body perfectly. The end of the coat goes just past the top part of her tail. The neck seems to be a little big on her but I’d rather have it too big in the neck and fit her body perfectly. While I’m freezing waiting for her to get done she’s perfectly happy just looking around even with the cold wind blowing. So I’m assuming it must keep her nice and warm.I would absolutely purchase this coat again.
