However, I can't give it 5 stars because although it is sharp, it's not the fabled ninja-sharp blade that I had hoped for. Reality is, it's just a sharp knife like any made of steel.Having said that, it has qualities that a steel knife does not possess. The primary quality is beauty. This thing is a pleasure to use. It's lovely and it handles wonderfully. Clean-up is easy. The fact that the knife is ceramic--and therefore liable to chip--forces you to take better care of it than you would a steel knife. I believe this forced coddling helps with the mystique that surrounds such cutlery.Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes. Would I buy another one? Yes. But is it the culinary equivalent of a Hattori Hanzo blade? The top of the blade is a true black or charcoal grey, and the edge is machined to a lighter grey. The handle is sturdy, with raised ridges at the thumb grip, and it's pearlescent finish is striking. But more important, the blade is quite sharp, a match for the Kyocera blades that I already own. Never abused it, always hand washed, never used for chopping… tried to contact seller (MIQQI)but their E-Mail is useless.
