Review: Did it do as advertised? - Absolutely! I practiced with several gauges of wire and up to the heaviest gauge of soft steel wire I wanted for the purpose, it worked perfectly. I admired some of the home made devices on You Tube to do this task and settled for paying for Clamptite and its postage to New Zealand because of its apparent design and usability. I accept it cost me much more than if I had been in the US, but we have no other outlet in this country for the Clamptite, so the usability became the deciding factor. I haven't used the device all that much yet, for actual connections, but it is obvious those connections are there until the hose fails. The device is relatively light and I would not expect it to last well in a commercial sense. I have greased the thread with a MOS2 grease and that will see me out. But this device under care will carry on into the next generation. It is well made. My small use so far has shown the ADVANTAGES of this type of clamp against current screw clamp types of design. My guess at this time, is that the clamp (with the right wire) will out last the hose.

The stainless band was fine, but the rest of the hardware rusted and fell apart after years of water exposure. Clamptite made a nice looking and secure clamp. Won’t have to worry about corrosion either. Good tool to have around the house or vehicle!

**Q: Can it be used on pex**
A: Yes, this tool can be used on just about anything needing to be clamped.

**Q: Can this device work on a rubber hose that has 500 psi of water going through it?**
A: I’ve used on a vehicle hose with no issues

A: Very handy for semi- advanced clamping tasks. Industrial strength results. Includes instructions and is easy to use, but should practice before intended application. Additionally, need good wire cutters and pliers. Consider repairs as permanent.

**Q: Wire comes out of can in a spiral. How do you straighten the wire to be useable?  All videos start with straight wire.**
A: Drill a small hole, (slightly larger than your wire size) in a thick piece of wood and pull your wire length through it. You can also fix one end of the wire in a vice and with a pair of vice grips or pliers, stretch the wire while twisting the wire in one direction. There are multiple videos on wire straightening on You Tube.

A little awkward getting used to using it, but it works fantastic when you’re broke down with a blown off hose and the side of the mountain 13 miles from civilization
