They are very solidly made ceramic spoons with a nice, shiny glaze that is glass-smooth against the lips. I ordered a few different brands/types of similar spoons to compare when shopping for these, and this particular set was my favorite because of the notably larger size (great for soup dumplings, thicker noodles, or chunks of meat or vegetables) and the high quality. The green color was also well-depicted and accurate in the online photos. Overall, these are bigger and heavier soup spoons than many out there, and we love using them! After 4 months, they still look great without any scratches or dings, and I expect that they'll last forever with typical care. RECOMMEND!
