I have gotten several small zip pouches to put my cables and other accessories in so that they do not get jumbled in the big compartment. This bag has a big enough compartment that you can pack for an overnight trip in the main compartment if you can fit your laptop in the side. I love the bright color on the inside so things are visible. There is a zip pouch on the inside big enough for a folder or spiral notebook. Just get some locker dividers or zipped packing bags if you're going to use the big pocket for smaller things. I love being able to roll vertically as well as behind me. I even removed most of the stuff out of one so it wasn't stuffed full, but the bottom "plate" where the wheels are attached simply could not be made to fit into the overhead , and it was too big for under seat as well. This is my go to bag, using packing cubes I can bring 2 laptops, plus 2-3 days clothing , medicine, snacks and some small tools But it sucks it wont fit there because 95% of the flights out of my airport seem to be these regional jets. so I am going to be getting something else to use for those flights. **Q: Can it fit my 17.3" laptop?** A: This will not fit my 17 inch laptop in the laptop compartment. It does fit in the main backpack area so that is what I am doing until I can find a better bag. **Q: Is this bag waterproof or water resistant?** A: I would say water resistant. If the volume of water is small it not absorb, but if intense a small part is absorbed. **Q: how long is the pull handle, when fully extended?** A: I'm six feet and it's plenty long and extends variably at different lengths. It is roomy, light on the back and multi-functional; you can push it by the easy pullup handle, carry it in one hand via the side handle or whip out the straps and throw it onto your back and have free hands! The shoulder straps are wide, can be lengthened to LONG for even a big lady such as myself, and are padded just enough to very comfortable. When we arrived home in Australia, we decided to purchase another bag the same so that next time we travelled we would each have the same comfort and freedom with our carryon luggage. Unfortunately, they are not yet available in Australian retail shops, so we hopped online and ordered one in from the USA.
