I also decided to purchase this because I thought my children would like the cool changing colors and it would be a great way to provide a better night light for their room. Little did I know how much my husband and I would like it as well. I do not like a light on while sleeping, so I turned off the light feature the first night and just allowed the mist to fill the air. When I woke up the next day, I realized the difference this made in the air and decided to use it again. I did not use any fragrances, just pure water. The second night I turned it on, I left the colors on for a bit and my husband really liked the lights and felt they were soothing. I actually logged onto Amazon today to purchase another since my son has asked for it to be returned to his room because he notices a huge difference without it. :-(This is actually a pretty good size but does not take up a lot of space. This is why the traditional vaporizer and humidifiers didn't work for my family.I highly recommend this for anyone looking for another way to add moisture to their air with a cool light show (or not)! I am also considering incorporating some of the fragrances to help with the air now that cold season is upon us. However, I'm very pleased! It runs for 12 hours or more on HIGH mist and the design does not allow any water spurts to escape so my table top is bone dry. It dispels a perfect amount of most on either setting and shuts off when the water is gone (not prematurely when there's still 100ml of water inside like many other units). The colors in the lighting are very vibrant and makes a great nightlight. My granddaughter loves watching it. I place about 10-12 drops of oil per 500ml and it gives a noticeable scent throughout a large living room and the dining room next to it.
