I haven't used the suction cup yet, but I bought this light specifically because it came with a mini-tripod. That way I can move it around and use it with different devices.I put the light on an elevated surface behind my laptop and it really does the trick. The light has a warm and cool temperature, and I can adjust the brightness. It's really nice for zoom meetings after dark with people in other time zones.
