The black is a TRUE black, which I found to be incredibly difficult to match at local craft stores when I ran out 3/4 of the way through the poster. All of the colored chunky letters are outlined in black glitter, and all of the black regular thin font was also done in black. Due to it being done on a big poster board, I was unable to reuse any glitter poured that didn't attach to the glue, like you normally can, so I know I went through it a ton faster because of that. I used a mini vacuum to suck it up, so I definitely ended up using more than double what I would have had I been able to reuse the glitter that didn't stick to the glue, but it is what it is for some projects! Overall, this is a great set of glitter, and it comes with a great variety of colors at an incredibly low price. The fact that they come in hard plastic tubes is such a huge bonus!! Search for Embossing Powder or Embossing Powders. And you'll also need stamps or pens that use the clear embossing inks or inks that do not dry fast and holds the powders long enough to be embossed via heat application. I love the clear pens so you do not have to be limited to stamps only. But you can free hand designs and script or written words. Anyway this powder is a GLITTER you can however use glue and tacky glues on paper to add glitter to a work or same with mixing into acrylic finger nail media and I do not recommend to glitter your hair but it's sold as such. So it's not heat activated and in fact heat may ruin it or cause colors to run. I haven't tried heating just not the right stuff to use with it.
