I just bought both 9 and 11 mm chains and both aren't welded but I wish you good luck trying to pull them open. I got these to use to make keychains (excessive I know) and had a very hard time trying to separate a couple links off. I was successful in the end, but would confirm that it takes a strong person with some handy tools to pull them apart. **Q: I am interested in the 26" length. Is the length accurate?** A: Seems shorter **Q: Do you think it will turn colors or get gross if I wear it in the shower or pool often?** A: If you wear it THAT much in water, it will eventually turn, i'm sure. The most I might do is sweat a little with mine on but that's it.
