Yes, it gets pricey if you have a large fire pit but it looks so beautiful.For reference I bought the RH 48' square fire pit and needed a total of 80 lbs of glass and it is NOT too much, just perfect.I started with 2 x 20 pound pack and it clearly was half full so I ordered another 2x 20 for a total of 80 lbs and now it looks full and lights well (you don't want to over load or it will be hard or impossible to light up).Love the color, Caribbean blue reflective, very shiny turquoise blue. I went with the 1/2 inch and again very happy with the choice. The 1/4 perhaps looks good too, but for a large fire pit, I prefer 1/2. We have only used it two days but so far the glass looks phenomenal. I will update in a few months or a year to see how it is holding up with the heat. Note that this particular type is more like the chunks of a thick broken mirror, rather than smooth pebbles. I have both kinds, and prefer this. The mirrored surface really does reflect light better and the jaggedness of the pieces is more rustic and fills the space up better. The smoother rocks remind me of a fish tank and you need a million of them.
