I lifted a very low mileage 2001 a few years back. My dad acquired a higher mileage 2WD that needed (among other things) struts and rear springs. He used my factory 4WD suspension to replace the warn out suspension on his 2WD and there were NO noticeable differences or needed modifications in order to do so. I frequently get the “DOES NOT FIT 2000 4RUNNER” notification on Amazon, many times with parts I know to be compatible. I would trust Rough Country on this over Amazon. You shouldn’t have any issues. **Q: Do these come preassembled?** A: Yes everything is ready to install right out of the box **Q: Does it fit a 1999 Tacoma 4wd?** A: Yea, more like 3” all the way around **Q: Do you need to do anything else when installing? Longer brake lines? Driveline? Etc?** A: Not unless you plan to rock crawl or any other off road driving that might cause a lot of flex in your rear axle (if that’s the case, get an ikon lift). 3” or less to fit larger tires and maybe do some light wheeling & the stock brake lines are fine. We love everything about it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rough Country Lift is Great - Delivery was Horrible *by H***N on October 27, 2023* First lift I bought from Amazon was not delivered correctly. There are three boxes and only one was delivered. Amazon resent the lift this time directly from Rough Country. Rough Country customer service was great - they even expedited it to me. Installation was straight forward and easier than I thought - except for the tops nuts on the rear shocks, which were a real struggle to remove. The ride has improved, the looks are just what I hoped for, and after an alignment it drives and handles better than stock. The bad shipping luck carried on when Amazon picked up the one box from the first order and the driver ran the delivery truck into my tree and snapped off a main limb - truck didn’t look so good either.
