As with any protectant it will look best and last longer when you scrub the surface with a good de-greaser and rinse it well. If you notice some vehicles have plastic body panels that turn white or faded. Scrub them a couple times until the suds no longer change color and apply this product and they will look like new. Of course this is not permanent once again, but it will last longer than most. I notice this product also CONTAINS a sunscreen. Most products ramble on about "uv damage" but if you read carefully they say they can make things "look better" from sun damage but do not specifically say their product can prevent it. This product can prevent it. Also, make sure you shake it well each time before using. Good luck.
