Because this is Amazon.com, let's not try to talk about chemical kinetics and binding affinity, and just say that "yes you will have competition between r-LA and s-LA" so assuming it's like equal binding affinity for each (that is a BIG assumption) if you go buy the ALA 600 mg dose: 300 mg of R-LA is there to be broken down but you have "equal" competition so it may be more like 150 mg of R-LA that is actually taken up because some of the S-LA bound to the enzymes.
