A: If on fishing line you should not need to.  I don't know why you would need to remove the ring from the magnet housing, but you could add some thread-lock.

if you stick this to a fridge or piece of sheet metal its easy to pull off. if you stick it to a thick steel plate be careful as it is very hard to remove. i cracked the magnet trying to get it off a heavy steel plate
