Uplink is only if you want to wireless transmit the network from one AP to another. **Q: what router does everyone use with this? I have an asus rt-65, is that sufficient?** A: You can use any device with routing functions, like if you are replacing a small office or home office WiFi router. That Asus rt65 should be fine, though you will want to disable the radio on the Asus WiFi to allow the ubiquity to be the WiFi ap in the house. **Q: Does this come with any power adapter?** A: As others have said it does come with a 24v Poe injector. But don't the mistake I made, I put the injector in the house at the network switch without thinking how long the Cat-6 run was, 200 ft. in my case. The access point was flipping out! It finally occurred to me what I had done. Once I put the injector in the barn where the access point is, using a 20 ft. patch cable between them, everything worked great.
