## Questions & Answers

**Q: Has anyone else had problems with fit lately? I have purchased this filter before and not had a problem til now.**
A: I have a Whirlpool model ED5PBAXVY00 which this filter is supposed to replace. However although the filter snapped into place, the water dispenser trickled out very slowly, if at all. I measured the difference between the old working filter and the new, and noticed that the little white guide post or detent is a smidge longer on the replacement filter. (A smidge in this case is approximately 1/16 of an inch or .05" or 1.27mm.) I used a utility knife to shorten the post to match the old filter. I inserted the adjusted filter into the fridge and heard the rush of water filling the cartridge. Success! Water and ice dispensing are working again.

**Q: Does this act as a replacement for what seems to be discontinued 4386841 for a Whirlpool refrigerator?**
A: It is supposed to be replacement but the water taste is far worse than any of the 436841 filters I ever had...   IMHO Worst Filter EVER

**Q: Is this a fast fill filter**
A: My understanding is that this filter replaces the #4396710 which I use. That filter says that it is NOT fast fill filter.

**Q: Is this tested against NSF 53?**
A: From the back of the package:  "Tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standards 4, 53, and 401 in System Models P1WB & P1WB2L for the reduction of the claims specified on the Performance Data Sheet."

A great filter. No issues with purchase, delivery, installation, and use. Had preliminary concerns after reading some of the comments on the Amazon.com website with relation to it being a downgrade from its predecessor model and the bad taste of its water. However, this is not the case as the filter was of good physical quality while water dispensed had no noticeable undesired taste or scent. Using the water for my drip drop coffee the next day had a marked improvement of my brew! Would recommend, especially I had previously tried (and subsequently returned) generic replacement filters - a night and day result. Also note that it is also compatible with Kenmore side-by-sides that uses 9030 (which is also the Whirlpool 4396710).
