Review: One of my favorite textbooks ever. - Having this textbook for my fluids class made me really love fluid mechanics. You can tell that De Nevers really loves the subject too, because the book is actually fun and interesting to read, unlike my horrible wordy Kinetics book. De Nevers has a great writing voice and a good sense of humor; I laughed without feeling embarrassed (unlike with my cheesy, hackneyed Kinetics book). This book does a good job explaining the concepts of fluid mechanics by providing enough background to understand concepts without being cluttered with information. I highly recommend this book. It's been my favorite textbook so far in college.

Having this textbook for my fluids class made me really love fluid mechanics. You can tell that De Nevers really loves the subject too, because the book is actually fun and interesting to read, unlike my horrible wordy Kinetics book. De Nevers has a great writing voice and a good sense of humor; I laughed without feeling embarrassed (unlike with my cheesy, hackneyed Kinetics book).
