Review: The best make-it-yourself, authentic chai tea! - THE TASTE ... If you love authentic chai, this is what you want. This is not sweetened, which is one of my fav things about it. It's spicy in the way it's supposed to be and the sweetness-spiciness balance is totally customizable (the best part). I always felt the concentrated chai tea in a box on the shelf at the store was way too sweet. THE VALUE ... This little tin lasts you a while. I have two hefty servings a day and one of this lil tins will last me over a month. You will save so much money making your chais this way vs using concentrated liquid in a box for $7/4 servings. THE PACKAGING ... Upon delivery, this little tin has come in a little cardboard box. The lid is secured with tape. It takes up much less space than the competetors concentrated liquid forms. It comes a little over half full and its perfect size makes it so easy to scoop even when there's only a little left. The little bamboo spoon is appreciated. TIPS ... for spicier tea, add more powder or less water/milk/sweetener. For sweeter tea, add more honey, sugar, agave, whatever. My recipe is about 6 oz of hot water and a heaping bamboo spoon of spices. Mix. Add about half tablespoon of honey and a splash (about 2 oz) of soy milk (it's sweeter). In the fall months, I'll make homemade pumpkin spice creamer and substitute that for the honey for a pumpkin spiced chai and it's 11/10 I have to give this 5 stars, I have nothing to complain about with this tea. I've reordered 4x and I'll continue to do so! If you're on the fence about ordering - just do it, you'll be happy. Most people may worry it won't taste good. Review: Incredible - Incredible chai. I use about a half tablespoon plus a half teaspoon of powder in 16 oz. of liquid. I heat 8oz. filtered water with 6 oz. whole milk in a saucepan and who’s in the chai powder. When it’s hot, I pour it into a mug. After it cools a bit I add raw honey until I get the sweetness I want . Then I steam foam about 2 ounces of cream and add that on top. This is incredibly tasty, fresh, high-quality, and just amazing! I have replaced my morning coffee with it. It gives me a steady energy instead of a jittery high and then a crash later.

**Q: Is this a powder that can be added directly to drinks and mixed, without needing to strain it before drinking? I need "powder" for a recipe, not leaves.**
A: Yes, it is a loose powder and it is very fine. The canister includes a tiny wooden scoop and the recommended amount for an 8oz cup (i believe) is one well-rounded scoop. It is a very strong powder though, so you might want to go easy on it and check the taste to see if it needs more. I hope this helps. :)

**Q: How many calories / how much fat is in each serving? Thanks!**
A: Tomorryo, the container does not have this information, but the ingredients are black tea and spices which have negligible calories and fat. One serving is a quarter of a teaspoon so I would say the caloric value is below 10 calories, if that. All the spices are 100 percent organic and the product is vegan and gluten free. Really good stuff!

**Q: Does this have to be dissolved in hot.....   i drink my coffee and tea iced....  would i be able to just add a scoop or two without heating first?**
A: I would suggest dissolving in a bit of hot water to mix well, then add cold water & ice. I'm sure that would work well. Because it's a masala, it can be a bit gritty at the bottom but this is easily remedied by continually swirling your cup. I really love this product. Try adding a little powdered ginger if you want even more kick!

**Q: How much caffeine is in one scoop?**
A: According to the website, one rounded scoop has about 10 - 15mg caffeine.

Love this chai! Perfect amount of spiciness zing with the ability to add a sweetener of your choosing to your preference level. Not even sure how many of these I’ve ordered at this point, but the last two I ordered together came without the advertised scoops which was a bummer, but not a deal breaker.
