The electric knife is much like a bread knife, serrated, long & narrow. Not so sure any kind of wood saw would work, but what might also work if you're careful is a soldering iron. Make a line with a felt tip pen to be your guide for a straight line. If you don't have an electric knife, you might try finding one at Goodwill or the likes. It isn't until you've cooked the fam a few turkeys or big roasts you find out what a labor saving device it really is! **Q: What would be good, medium or high density, for use on a couch to increase the height and comfort, so I can sleep on it after my hip replacement?** A: I have this answer foe sure I used high density I love it but it is a little too firm after a hip replacement use the medium you pick the height by the thickness of the foam you buy. Also, will the foam show when you look at the couch?** A: That's just what I did with the foam...added it the family room and basement couch cushions. It did add height & made the cushion a lot firmer.
