They tend to close back up enough to not worry about things falling out if you leave it at that. However, you can load stuff up and flip the belt around so that the slits are facing in (towards your body) so there is not way for anything to slide out. Hence the flipbelt name. Realize this belt is meant to be a comfortable snug around your body limiting movement of items stored inside. If you get the right size you will find this belt really comfortable and items secure. **Q: Does this stay around your hips or slide up to your waist? Taking stuffs in & out is very easy, and even though it has no zipper, phone or card does not drop out during running, as the belt fit snug to my body.
