I intentionally purchased the VisionTek 7750 EYE 6 video card in December 2014 and was furious. Vision Tech needs to be adamant in making it clear up front that this card WILL NOT function properly if you do not use Active AMD certified dongles! Holy E'ffn crap, it was a nightmare trying to make six identical HP 2009 monitors work. It never did even when I tried using active dongle adapters that were not AMD certified as I was under the impression it would work. Customer service at both AMD and Vision Tech were fair but not 100% helpful. I have used Nvidea video cards and had good success but they are more expensive. I ended up returning everything back to amazon with no problem, thank you Amazon!Now to the HD7870 video card. I was hesitant on trying this card out from the same manufacture fearing it would not function properly. This time I ordered AMD certified active dongle adapters. I opened all my packaging carefully in case I had to send it back. Follow the simple instructions to install and powered it up. At first no screens turned on so I rechecked to make sure I had all my cables and PCI E in place properly. I powered it up again and nothing happened, no monitors would turn on. At this time I was getting pretty disappointed and after about five minutes, all screens turned on! I guess on the first initial start up, it takes a bit longer to power up, I didn't know this. Once it powered up I was expecting complications and was almost convinced it would not work or would be a nightmare to set up if I could even get it set up properly.I was pleasantly surprised that setting up and assigning your monitors was extremely simple and very user friendly. I kept thinking when was the bomb going to drop and have it malfunction... I've never had a single problem with it after about two months, not a single problem. I use each monitor independently. I use my HD7870 Video card for trading. I use six HP 2009 Monitors with a HP Envy 700-230 PC.This Video Card is rather large as another reviewer mentioned. It looks like a hot rod motor! It easily fit in the PCI E slot but I barely was able to get all my power connectors tucked in place,it was that close. I did swap out the stock 300W power supply with a Gold rating 600W Corsair power supply and it took up more room in the HP chassis. If you have a larger PC chassis, that would be preferred. The dongle adapters I'm using are Accell BO87B 006B. I've read a few reviews elsewhere that these dongles may have problems after about a year. The quality seems average so if I have problems, I'll check my dongles. There are not many AMD certified active dongle adapters available to choose from anywhere. Remember, they MUST BE AMD certified active or your system will NOT work. It will NOT, don't even think it will. I learned the hard way. Yes they are a bit more expensive, but you'll be rewarded and get the graphics to perform as advertised.So yes, I love the HD7870 video card. It performed exactly how it advertised. Its easy to set up and the price is very reasonable.If you have room in your chassis and have enough power supply, I highly recommend this card. I wouldn't' even bother trying the VisionTek 7750. If you're comparing both VisionTek's HD7870 and their 7750, go for the 7870. It's amazing and saved me about $1400 had I purchased a trading computer already made. Instead I bought a new HP PC ($600) and the HD7870 with 6 AMD active dongles ($589). The PC I narrowed down to purchase if this set up didn't work was about $2600. Everything worked (thankfully) and I save a ton of money. Thank you VisionTek HD7870... ### ⭐ High priced garbage. *by A***R on April 15, 2017* This thing is complete trash, I have been patient with it and tried to get it to work right but after 2 days I give up. I purchased 4 micro to dvi connectors and connected 6 monitors using 4 new and 2 provided dongles. I could never get all 6 working at the same time in windows 10, one of two monitors would disconnect during a reboot or during a settings change and would not allow re-connection. I tried swapping ports cables monitors, drivers 2 clean installs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great video card! *by D***C on December 21, 2014* Be sure your motherboard has adequate space to accomodate this video card as it is BIG. I had to alter my heat sink cover in order to make it fit. If you plan to run multiple monitors (up to 6) you MUST purchase a VisionTek Active Mini Display Port to HDMI dongle cable (900636) for each monitor connection. Be sure to budget an extra $100-$150 in your budget for these Active dongle cable connectors as they do not come with the graphics card. You should also go to the AMD website to find updated drivers. The ones on the CD that comes with the card are not the latest drivers. The controls to setup multiple monitors is really good and easy to use and is very feature rich. If you buy the Active dongle cable connectors and download the latest drivers from the AMD site your experience with this card will be good. I am very happy with this purchase.
